Broth Orientale

This delicious, low calorie, autentic broth orientale will be sure to please you.

Ingredients

  • 2 T. rice
  • 1 1/2 c. vegetable broth
  • 1 T. celery, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 t. onion, finely chopped
  • 1 T. bean sprouts
  • 1 water chestnut, thinly sliced
  • salt to taste

t. = teaspoon, T. = Tablespoon, c. = cup

Instructions

  1. Add rice to cold vegetable broth; bring to boil.
  2. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes.
  3. Add celery, onion, bean sprouts, and water chestnut; simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Add salt.

Yields 1 1/2 cups
