Crispy Golden Cereal

King midas has this low calorie crispy golden cereal for breakfast every morning.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. oatmeal
  • 2 c. wheat germ
  • 1 c. sesame seeds
  • 1 c. walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened flaked coconut
  • 3/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. granulated brown sugar replacement
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 T. vanilla extract

t. = teaspoon, T. = Tablespoon, c. = cup

 

Instructions

  1. Combine oatmeal, wheat germ, sesame seeds, walnuts, and coconut in a large bowl.
  2. In a blender, combine liquid shortening, brown sugar replacement, water, and vanilla. Beat until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Slowly pour liquid shortening mixture over cereal mixture; stir to coat cereal mixture completely.
  4. Spread out on cookie sheets. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  5. Stir frequently and reverse the oven position of pans after 30 minutes.
  6. Cool and store in tightly covered containers.
