Fried Fruit Turnovers

Delicious fried fruit turnovers fit for anyone attemping to lose weight. Did we mention this was delicious?

Ingredient

  • 2 tablespoon cold butter
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3 tablespoon hot skim milk
  • 9 tablespoon pureed baby food fruit

Instructions

  1. Cut butter into flour.
  2. Blend egg yolk and milk together; then add to flour mixture.
  3. Knead well to make a smooth dough. Roll out to %a in. (4 mm) thickness. Cut into six pastry rounds.
  4. Place 1′/z T. (21 mL) of pureed fruit in center of each round.
  5. Fold over turnover-style and seal or pinch edges securely. Fry in hot fat at 365°F (180°C) until brown.

Yields 6 servings
