Quick Homemade Cereal

This quick homemade cereal diet recipe is low in calories.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. oatmeal
  • 1 c. wheat germ
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened coconut, shredded
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar replacement
  • 1/4 c. low-calorie margarine, melted
  • 2 T. liquid fructose
  • 2 T. water
  • 1/4 t. salt

t. = teaspoon, T. = Tablespoon, c. = cup

 

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl; stir and fold to blend thoroughly.
  2. Spread mixture on a cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring or shaking pan occasionally to allow for even toasting of the cereal.
  4. Cool and store in a tightly sealed container.
  5. Cereal may be kept in the refrigerator, freezer, or on a kitchen shelf.

Yields 10 servings
