Spiced Seasonal Fruit Salad

This delicious spiced seasonal fruit salad is sure to make your taste buds tingle.

  • 1 large mango
  • 125 g seedless black grapes, cut in half
  • 125 g seedless green grapes, cut in half
  • 125 g peaches, skinned, stoned and sliced
  • 125 g strawberries, hulled and cut in half
  • 1/3 cup desiccated cocounut
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • A pinch of mustard powder
  • Salt
  1. Peel the mango, cut away the flesh and slice thinly.
  2. Put the mango into a large mixing bowl and add the halved black and green grapes, the sliced peaches and the strawberries.
  3. Finely grind the coconut in a spice mill or with a pestle and mortar. Add the sugar, cayenne pepper, mustard and a pinch of salt and mix well.
  4. Add the spiced coconut mixture to the fruit, stir well, cover and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to blend and mature.
