Can sweet and sour be turned into a slaw? You betcha, it can even be turned into a diet recipe too.
Ingredients
- 2 med. red onions
- 4 c. cabbage, finely shredded
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 1 t. dry mustard
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. celery seeds
- 1/4 t. cornstarch
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar replacement
- 2 T. vegetable oil

Instructions
- Thinly slice the onions and separate them into rings.
- In a large bowl, alternate layers of the cabbage and onion rings.
- In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, mustard, salt, celery seeds, and cornstarch.
- Stir to dissolve cornstarch.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture boils and is clear.
- Remove from heat, beat in sugar replacement and oil.
- Pour dressing over the cabbage.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight, stirring occasionally.
- To serve, using a slotted spoon, lift salad out of the dressing.
